London College Nansana - School Events

The school organises one Academic Sunday every term where parents and teachers come together and share ideas on how to improve the perfomance of our students. There is also one visitation day in each term. On this day parents visit their children and also to talk to and counsel them.
Students engage in activities like Football and Netball, Music, Dance and Drama, Handball etc. Students also engage in indoor games like Chess, Scrabble and others to develop their mental abilities.
The whole year is planned so as to accomodate all the activities in the following categorisations:
- Term I - Inter-House Athletics
- Term II - Inter-Class /House Games (football, net ball, volleyball, handball)
- Term III - Inter-House Music competetions
The overall winner in those activities is awarded a bull for a bull roasting ceremony on top of recieving appreciation certificates.
At the end of the term a speech day is held on which students listen to the Head Teacher, Teachers and Heads of Departements. Advice to the students on their academic and life time realities is the core of this day.

The agriculture students practice gardening and this has exposed them to a number of modern ideas in the farm fields. We have a poultry farm which supplies both eggs and broilers for meat. This does not only suppliment the learning of the students but also suppliments the school diet.

The school has a variety of clubs which help the students to interact and develop socially. The clubs include the wild life club, debating club, academic clubs like History and Geography, the drama club and the cope up club. The club members come together on the school premises. They also visit simillar clubs in other schools. this has greatly helped in the building of the social welfare of the students.

Academic seminars are held both at the school main campus where other schools are invited and externally where our school visits other schools. This is done especially for the S 4 and the S 6 classes. They learn new ideas from the other students as they interact. This has led to a steady improvement in the perfomance of our students in the final examinations (UNEB).
